The Wright's Christmas Letter 1999
... but, just where is home? 1999 brought two major changes for the Wrights. At New Years we moved from south Florida to Connecticut, with Marks promotion at Pratt & Whitney. Six months later, he was offered a position in Atlanta, Georgia (with Atlanta Gas Light) and we jumped at the chance to live near relatives. So, we moved again! Thats enough for a while. We love Georgia and living in the south. Mark really likes his job, is challenged and on the fast-track.
LeShay (17) is nearing her finals for this semester. Shes in her sophomore year of college, and plans to attend Ga State at Athens - pre-med for vet school. She stands a tall 510" with blond hair. Sporting around in her convertible, she enjoys the hills and new scenery. Chantelle (15) takes voice and piano lessons. She loves to sing and is looking towards working that into a career. Crosstitch, beading, old movies, reading, Victorian sewing and decorating, along with Youth Group keep her busy. Brent (13) enjoys computers: building, playing on, working with, and discussing them. Whenever I have a computer problem, hes the one I call to help. Neal (10) is in the same grade (10th) as Chantelle. Hes my academian who answers questions by reciting (word-for-word) what hes read. He plans on being a lawyer and were rooting him on. Kelsey (8) loves insects, reptiles and amphibians. In Connecticut, during the frozen winter, she wrote a note to her grandmother asking Granny Sue to catch some lizards and send them to her. She wanted a boy and a girl. Sewing, quilting, working on crafts, she loves to work with her hands and play with her siblings. Kaylor (6) reads well, loves baseball, riding bikes, climbing trees, doing boy-stuff. He has slightly-curly red hair and Kyms green eyes and loves to play with Morgan. One time, sick with the flu and a headache, he came downstairs holding his forehead. When asked if hed hit his head on something he responded, "No, my head is hitting itself." Right. We've found that Morgan (5) is allergic to wheat (gluten) and dairy (lactose). So, he's off sugar, and the rest. It's so good to finally be doing something to help him get better. Within 24 hours of changing his diet, he began talking in paragraphs and relating more to the world. It was a remarkable difference for which we are grateful to the Lord. Kaitlyn (4) takes full advantage of being the last child, by telling the others how to live. Strawberry blond and very active, she keeps up with the three right above her. Kyms busy-ness has included packing the house up twice for moving, decorating two homes, having guests in New England and in the south, having a houseful of weekend guests for Thanksgiving ~ and loving it, writing articles and publishing homeschooling curricula. Beginning in January, she will be a columnist for Mary Prides Practical Homeschooling Magazine. What an honor! Visit our website at: www.openarmsmagazine.com
Homeschool is going well. We like our church. It's a small Assemblies, and they are quite accepting of all the kiddos. Family-oriented, homeschool friendly, and can handle some noise from children while they're in the service. Works for us. Hope your Christmas is a time of blessing and Celebration of the birth of our Lord. Know that you are in our thoughts, conversations & prayers. Let us hear from you. Love, Mark, Kym, LeShay, Chantelle, Brent, Neal, Kelsey, Kaylor, Morgan, & Kaitlyn |
